SummerDAZE
What are they all about?
If you are between the ages of 13 – 19 and are interested in great outings and activities with your peers, then SummerDAZE is a cool way for you to spend your summer! Among some of the exciting outings are trips to the beach, parks, Cultus Lake, Splashdown, Kits, Granville Island, Greater Vancouver Zoo, the Aquarium, Science World… plus there are many interactive activities such as sports and arts and crafts!
Staff provide a structured yet fun environment with an abundance of fun activities, while offering youth the opportunity to make friends.
SummerDAZE camps are day camps that run 9:30-3:30 Monday through Friday for youth with developmental disabilities.
Register by the week for an unlimited amount of camps. Kidz ages 9 – 12 are welcome to join us for weeks #3 and #8. Cost includes staffing, transportation and admissions. Families are required to send a lunch, plenty of water, sunscreen, and a hat with their child daily.

Ratios: Fees are based on a 3:1 staffing ratio. We do not provide 1:1 support.

Awesome Adapted Camps
Priority will be given to individuals who do not otherwise have a day program or alternate care during these camps. This will ensure the families who require these camps as an essential service will be supported first!

What’s so awesome about these camps?
Local Leisure DAZE – Here’s your chance to venture around the Lower Mainland via transit… as a group you will choose and plan where you want to go and learn how to access the routes and which buses to take. This is a great opportunity to learn while having fun!
Cost: $205 +10.25 GST= $215.25
Rec Rockers Band Camp –We will... we will ROCK YOU!!! This week will be a real school of rock. Each participant will choose an instrument to specialize in while learning the basics of music. They will also learn how to record a song using Garageband, and we will be filming a music video to accompany the song! We will also be doing an instrument making workshop! Bring your earplugs! *Taught by Music Therapist Katherine Graff
Cost: $290 + $14.50 GST= $304.50
Semi Famous Musical Theatre – Do you love to be in the spotlight? Do you love to sing and act? This summer camp is for YOU! Each participant will get to sing and star in their own music video which we will string together into a movie musical! We will be recording songs, finding costumes, filming in the community, and yelling ACTION!! This will be a high energy class!

Rec & Fit- This is a great spin on healthy living, exercise and cooking. This program will teach and guide you on healthy living in several differn’t areas. The mornings will be focus on proper nutrtion & healthy choices. Then you will get the oppertunity to put you knowledge to work & go grocery shopping for your lunch. You will focus on simple meal preparation that is nutritious & delicous! The afternoons will be filled with activities like swimming, hiking, soccer, basketball aerobics, & yoga. Francis Hall our very own BCRPA certified group fitness instructor will be join us on a few days to talk about healthy choices & lead some fitness classes. This is an opportunity not to miss out on!
Cost: $215 +10.75 GST= 225.75

Camp Elphinstone
– It’s that time of year again! Only 3 short months away!
Monday, June 18th – Thursday, June 21st
What’s really awesome about this year is Delta Community Living Society’s Social Group will be joining us! Yay, friends!!!
This is the most popular trip around! Anyone that goes on this awesome getaway can’t wait to go back! We get asked the dates of this trip a full year in advance b/c campers are so eager to get back to one of the most beautiful places in the world!
So what makes this the most anticipated trip of the year? It’s a camp located on the beautiful Sunshine Coast, with your amazing friends and Rec & Leisure staff!!!
You’ll experience great food and accommodations and an exciting 4 days of new activities with your friends.
You’ll get to try numerous outdoor activities such as archery, canoeing, discovery hikes, forest studies, outdoor living skills (fire and shelters), high and low ropes, and orienteering. We are going to have 2 Camp Specialists who will set up our daily programs filled with these great activities and games. All of our meals and snacks will be provided.
