Caite Joined The Semiahmoo Foundation as the Administrative Coordinator in early 2015. Previously, she worked in the administrative field for 6 years before joining the Semiahmoo House Society in 2012 as a community support worker. Caite brings a creative vision and commitment to her work. She is dedicated to enhancing the lives of others through The Semiahmoo Foundation and works with the intention of bringing awareness to its vision for an inclusive community. Miriam first started with Semiahmoo House Society in 2009 as a summer student and continued to volunteer while attending university. Shortly after her graduation, with a degree in Psychology from Kwantlen Polytechnic University, Miriam began working with Employment Training and Support Services – helping people to achieve their goals to find paid work and become active members in their communities. Miriam is driven to promote inclusion and social responsibility in her new role as Administrative Coordinator for the Semiahmoo Foundation. Miriam continues to volunteer with a focus on environmental awareness, enjoys snowboarding, yoga and Vermicomposting. Contact Miriam.
Deena started her journey with Semiahmoo House Society in 2011 in Customized Employment Services and later in the Personal Development Services before joining The Semiahmoo Foundation in March of 2016 as The Event Planning Coordinator. Deena brings over 10 years of experience in planning events and charity fundraisers and is passionate about advocating and empowering others, and giving back. She has been serving on the Board of Directors for a local non-profit organization Beacon of Hope for Afghan Children Society that works towards healthcare and education for Children in Afghanistan. Deena holds a Bachelor Degree in English Literature and is a Counselor and Certified Coach. Larry joined The Semiahmoo Foundation in January 2014. He has worked at Semiahmoo House Society as part of the janitorial crew and catering group for over two decades. As the Foundation's Ambassador, his vast network of connections are instrumental to promote our philosophy that all people have rights and responsibilities and to create awareness about inclusion. Larry has a passion for music and volunteers as a conductor for a local high school and as choir manager at his church. He enjoys all sports and is an avid fan of the Surrey Eagles. Contact Larry.
Louise joined The Semiahmoo Foundation in 2012 as Director of Development. Previously, she had over 30 years of experience in the private sector working in senior management positions. She holds a Master of Arts in Leadership which she fulfilled partially by completing a research project on the inclusion of persons with disabilities in the workplace. Since, she has become passionate about the concept of inclusion and believes that employment is the gateway to independence. As part of her role as Director of Development, she is accountable for marketing, communications, fundraising and creating awareness. Contact Louise.
