Training and Support - The Learning Centre

The purpose of the Training and Support program is to create an opportunity for participants to explore options that allow personal growth, new life experiences, and opportunity to have choice and a variety of self directed activities. Participants create a schedule or life plan that meets their individual needs based on their Person Centered Plans and develop employable skills for independence and inclusion in their own communities. The Lifequest Program has developed a multitude of training options and learning experiences that encompass all current programs offered, and utilize community and staff expertise to facilitate program options.

Program options include; Employment Readiness, Vocational Training/Career Awareness, Food Services/Restaurant Skills, Gainful Employment, Enclave Work, Volunteer Options and Supported Work Maintenance Crews.

The participants have available job coaches, evaluations, and complete training plans that ensure our accountability to the individuals enrolled. These programs provide unique life experiences for the participants and assist with independence with their life goals.

Enclave Program

The Enclave Program provides work group training and is the stepping-stone towards working semi-independently in an employment setting. Participants are supported and encouraged to make work related choices to better enhance their independence on a job site. The Program strives to encourage working as a team, which enables social networks and helps to increase confidence.

The Program’s goal is to provide ongoing work opportunities in different work settings with less pressure than an independent work site.

Food Services Program

The Food Services Program focuses on essential knowledge and understanding of food and nutrition. It stresses the importance of making healthy food choices in order to promote the well being of individuals and families. The Program also aims to develop self-reliance, independence, and positive social skills as well as teach basic life skills and knowledge that all individuals need.
