General Interest Programs

Creative Expressions Creative Expressions (12 and up) Tuesdays, 3:30 to 5:30pm, Ratio 5:1

Please join us as we embark on a creative journey though the art of master peices. We will learn the basic principles of designing, painting, expressing our feelings through art and having fun! Projects will rotate weekly throughout the semester. All costs associated with this program are included in the program fee. 

Media Club ( 16 and up) Mondays, 3:00 to 5:30pm, Ratio 5:1

Media Arts Club is a brand new program offered at Rec and Leisure! The class will take place on Mondays between 3:00pm and 5:30pm. The class will focus on various forms of multimedia such as creating videos, learning about the internet and how videos become viral, as well as the writing process behind creative content in media arts. Staff and participants will work closely together to create content, and produce and created by the participants we support, with the main goal of fostering inclusion with the internet community. 

Healthy Cuisines Cooking Class (16 and up) Thursdays 3:30pm to 5:30pm, Ratio 5:1 

Enjoy cooking? Wantt to learn how to cook healthy meals? Well, look no further! We are offering a healthy cuisine cooking class to help you learn the skills and tools to cook delicious and healthy meals from start to finish. Staff are committed, passionate and eager to share the same passion with those arounrd them. This program will help develop social skills, life skills, health and well being.

Mind Body and Soul Thursdays 3:30pm to 5:30pm, Ratio 3:1 

In 13 sessions we will discover what we need to become the best versions of ourselves. Facilitated by Frances Morris, certified fitness and yoga instructor, along with the support Recreation and Leisure staff, you will learn what feelings and triggers feel like, learn what that means and what we can do to take ownership and self sooth, how to journal (through writing, drawing and collaging) and how to honor our thoughts. Together, we will learn what a enjoyable, healthy and functional lifestyle looks like. We will explore music and dance, exercise and yoga, mediation and breath creating our own individual styles. Mason jar meal prep and so much more...At the end of this 13 weeks we will walk away with our journal, the recipes we enjoy, a lifestyle plan and a photo of ourselves “My Best Self” . We are so excited take this journey with you. Namaste.
