Creative Expressions General Interest Programs

Creative Expressions (12 and up) Tuesdays, 3:30 to 5:30pm, Ratio 5:1

Please join us as we embark on a creative journey though the art of master peices. We will learn the basic principles of designing, painting, expressing our feelings through art and having fun! Projects will rotate weekly throughout the semester. All costs associated with this program are included in the program fee. 

Healthy Relationships (16 and up) Mondays 3:00 to 5:00pm, Ratio 5:1

With staff education and curriculum provided by Jessica Wollen, Certified Sexual Health Educator from Shift Education, and facilitated by Rec and Leisure Support Workers, we are very excited to introduce the Healthy Relationships Series again. Staff will take participants through the following topics using curriculum developed by Jessica. Parents and caregivers will have the opportunity to schedule consultation with Jessica at an additional cost. The topics include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Public versus Private social rules and how to follow them.
  • Body Science: How the body works, scientific names for body parts, taking care of the body, health, hygiene, and self-care.
  • Human Development and Coming of Age
  • Building Healthy Relationships: Communication techniques, values, dating, families, and acquaintances (Circles of Safety).
  • Safety: Protecting yourself, your body, your heart, and your feelings.
  • Touch: Safe & unsafe touch/ consent, gentle touch, and loving touch.
  • Decision Making: Values, space, consent, consequences.
  • STI's, Birth Control, and Condoms.
  • Media Awareness, adult content, safety, and social rules.
